The search starts here

A clear brief.
A considered search.

A role specification is only the beginning. The real brief is the challenge ahead, the expertise missing from the team, and the outcomes the right person will own.

Bring that context into the search from the start. It gives every conversation a sharper purpose and every decision a stronger foundation.

How we think about search

From business need
to human alignment.

01 / Context

Understand the assignment.

Scientific priorities, business milestones, reporting relationships and the contribution you need from day one.

02 / Perspective

Look beyond the obvious.

Relevant experience matters. So do problem-solving, judgment, motivation and the ability to grow with the organization.

03 / Decision

Create clarity on both sides.

Set expectations, surface the important questions, and help the opportunity and the individual come into focus.

An Executive Search, step by step

Ten weeks, one standard.

Every executive search follows the same disciplined arc, led by a senior partner from first brief to the leader's first ninety days.

01

Discovery & brief

Week 1

We meet the founders, board and team. We define what success looks like in year one and year three, and agree the scorecard together.

02

Market map

Weeks 1–3

We map every credible candidate, including those who are not looking, across direct competitors, adjacent modalities and unexpected sources.

03

Approach & assess

Weeks 2–5

Structured conversations against the scorecard, with depth on judgment, motivation and how the person leads under pressure.

04

Shortlist & interviews

Weeks 4–7

A calibrated shortlist with written assessments. We prepare both sides for every interview and gather feedback within a day.

05

References & offer

Weeks 7–10

Deep, on and off-list referencing. We benchmark compensation and manage the offer so it lands well and lasts.

06

Onboarding

First 90 days

Check-ins at thirty, sixty and ninety days with the leader and the board, so small issues stay small.

Where we focus

Scientific depth.
Leadership perspective.

From research and clinical development to regulatory, technical, commercial and executive functions.

Before we begin

A few useful questions.

Whatever you have. A draft job description helps, but the most useful things are the milestones ahead, the team already in place and what has or has not worked in past hires.
Yes, and we encourage it. Many of our best searches begin with a conversation about the problem, not the title.
Codenamed briefs, a limited circle of people who know, and candidate approaches that do not name the company until there is mutual interest. We sign NDAs as standard.
Yes. We work with companies from seed through commercial stage, and we tailor the engagement model to the stage and the budget.
Executive Search suits C-suite, VP and board roles. Hybrid Search suits director and senior specialist hires. Contract & Interim covers gaps and peaks. Team Build suits five or more hires in a program. We will recommend one honestly in the first call.
Fees depend on the model and the role. Executive Search is retained and invoiced in stages. Hybrid Search combines a modest engagement fee with a success fee. We confirm everything in writing before any work begins.
