Principal Scientist, Translational Sciences
Build the translational package for an in vivo CAR-T program delivered by lipid nanoparticle. You will connect preclinical models to the biomarkers that will guide first-in-human dosing.
A typical mandate
The company is developing in vivo CAR-T approaches that engineer a patient's own T cells inside the body, without ex vivo manufacturing. Its lead program is in IND-enabling studies for an autoimmune indication. The team needs a translational scientist who can make the first clinical study informative.
What the role owns
- Design pharmacology and biomarker strategies that link animal models to human dosing
- Develop and qualify flow cytometry, ddPCR and cytokine assays for clinical use
- Lead nonclinical studies in humanized mouse and non-human primate models with CRO partners
- Author translational sections of the IND and investigator brochure
- Partner with clinical on sampling plans and pharmacodynamic endpoints
- Present findings to program teams and leadership
What great candidates bring
- PhD in immunology, molecular biology or a related field
- 6+ years of industry experience in cell therapy, gene therapy or immunology
- Hands-on experience with high-parameter flow cytometry and biomarker assay development
- Contribution to at least one IND submission
- Familiarity with LNP or viral vector delivery preferred
- Clear communication across research and clinical teams
Why it matters
- A visible role on the company's lead program
- Equity at Series B
- Lab-based role in a strong cell and gene therapy community
- A path to Associate Director as the program moves into the clinic
